Speaker Cable in Canada?

I was just wondering where I can get some good quality speaker cable, and what kind is cable I should look at? I live in Ontario, and currently have 16 gauge acoustic research cable. I think I would like to get some 12 gauge as that is what the paradigm monitor series recommends to use. I would get AR 12 gauge and would be happy with that, but bestbuy doesn't carry it, and i am not sure where else to get it. By the way, I am really not a big fan of Monster cable for some unknown reason.
Thanks Alot

Cables & Great services

Solen - small company but their product are first class.
They are Canadian (Montreal region) http://www.solen.ca
Great Price on speaker cable and banana plug and much more..
and they have a petty good services. I had the pleasure to
purchase from them 3 times since I stop to see this past august
on my vacation. Their web page look a "century old" but hey if
this is what it take to keep the price down and they have
a catalogue with canadian price on it;.... :D

You may want to look at Ultralink cables. They are Canadian and are available at several retailers in Ontario.

trycraft,
the longest run is about 30 feet to my rears, the other 3 runs are only about 10 feet. If I could save the money because my wires are already good, that would be great.
thanks

Certainly the run to the fron at 10 ft are fine. Forget spending for them.

The rears should be 14 ga at least but if you level matched all speakers, it will be fine too. Not ideal but I seriously doubt if you'd hear differences by replacing them, under bias controlled condition :) So, just relax and enjoy your setup. If you worry too much, you will get ulcers and not enjoy it on top of it.

Thanks for the good news. I just found a used Hsu Vtf-2 mk2 that I am going to pick up tonight with the money i am saving on the speaker wire. I think that the sub should make a very noticable difference to my music and ht enjoyment.

Great. That will certainly increase your enjoyment both for music and movies if you partake in them more so than the wires will :D

You will need or should hook it up with interconnect cables. Again, if you don't have any at home, you don't need anything expensive as long as it is long enough to reach the sub ;) You can shop for the less expensive cables: audio interconnect, video cables, digital cables, or even cable TV cable with plug adaptors if need to convert F type to RCA.

Cable in Canada

I just look at what Axion have as cables and banana plug, and they seem and is probably of excellent quality. But I still think that for "normal" speaker cable and banana plug from Solen who are excellent quality are the best. Their normal 12 gauge speaker cable (2/C 12GA)similar of the bulk spreaker cable from Axiom is only 0.53 per ft and the banana plus exactly the same dual spring model of what Axiom sell for $7 US ; Solen have them (EAGBA202)for $2.92 CDN  the single one (EGBA008)for $1.79 CDN  . You have to try man. I can not said anything about all the different type (RCA-SVideo etc) because I never try it ( all my are from Acoustic Research). I know that some of you will think that talking that good about a company I must gain somting from it; but I swear that I don't ! Many of you in this web site help me every single I need too and I just try to paid back a bit that I get from you guys :)
