Speaker B sub problem with Yamaha RXV650

I have a Yamaha RXV650 and I have a sub problem. When listening to music in 2 stereo mode I switch off my speakers A (which is my Tannoy satellite speakers) and I then select speakers B (which is my Yamaha book shelf speakers) When speakers B are selected by themselves it turns off the sub. Now I can switch A and B on together to get the sub back but the Tannoy satellites don't sound great when the volume is up. The instruction manual actually states that the sub will not work when speakers B is the only selection. This makes no sense to me. My only solution will be to ditch the book shelf speakers and buy a good set of floor standers which don’t rely on the sub. Is this a problem with all the Yamaha home theatre amps or just the RXV650? Is there a way to enjoy speakers B and the sub?

Speaker B is meant for stereo in another room - kind of a cheap zone2. Note that the center and surrounds won't work with only speaker B engaged either. I don't think that's unique to Yamaha, my Onkyo works the same way.

I think the only thing you could do would be to use Speaker A to a speaker selector and wire both sets of speakers to the selector.

What if you swap your speakers from speakers B to A?

Leave your speakers A on ALL the time and switch off speakers B when you turn up the noise.

A solution?
