I've been doing research to replace my old audio system with an HD ready one. I have Sony 40" LCD and Playstation 3. Now i need speakers and a reciever.
I want an HD ready reciever, and from what ive seen online ive settled on the Onkyo tx-sr706. I want smaller speakers mostly beacause of wife and budget constraints. From what i've seen for the price I like Polk Audio RM95 group featurning RM8 speakers for $499 to $550 or Mirage Prestige series nanosats for about $950 with sub or Mirage omnisat V2. I also thought about Klipsch RSX-3/RCX-3 system with sub for $1k. My max budget for reciever and speakers was 1.5k. If you have alternatives you like better or want to provide an opinion just on the 3 mentioned it would be greatly appreciated. The only speakers ive actually heard are the Polk RM8s and they sounded good to me in store. Better than Klipsch quintet 3s anyway.
