I just watched this and I have to say it is a huge improvement over the dvd release. The PQ is improved dramatically with not just an improvement in resolution but an improvement in what is seen overall. The first thing I noticed is the detail that can be seen in the opening scene with Spaceball one flying overhead. I'd never been able to see all the details of the ship before. The colors and details in just about every scene are improved, even the background starfields have more stars and have a depth to them I hadn't seen before.

While the sound is better than before with more LFE, it still is nothing to write home about. There is some subwoofer rumble to certain scenes, like in the opening flyover, but it is not comparable to most current features. That said it is still a huge improvement over the poor and flat dvd soundtrack.

Still, the movie itself holds up surprisingly well for a 80's parody of a 70's movie. I picked this up for $7.99 from Amazon's Black Friday Week deals and for the price I find it to be a great addition to my collection. IMO definately an 80's comedy worth checking out of BD.

It was $7.77 at Frys and nobody bought it, including me. Of the Mel Brooks bigger films, this is probably the one I liked the least. There were a lot of good moments, but it felt tired and overdone and even a bit childish (even for Brooks).

I'll probably break down and get this eventually. I have my favorite Brooks film, Blazing Saddles on BD and I'm glad for that.
