So after about a year, my Infocus SP4805 has developed a "buzz saw" noise from the color wheel and a whine from the fan. I called Infocus to see if my warranty was still in effect and they said "yes, until Sept 07." I got a different answer from the RMA department who said that it was out of warranty since Oct 06. Now, I don't have any money to go out and buy a new projector right now, but I'm done school and i start work next week.

Do you guys think it would be wise to try and fight with Infocus and possibly work out some sort of upgrade deal with them. I have heard of quite a few people doing this, and they end up with a new or refurbished projector for fairly cheap. OR, do you think it would be better to sell the projector on Ebay, salvage some sort of money from it and go out and buy a 50" or so rear projection DLP tv or something along those lines?

If you guys suggest going to buy a TV, which would you recommend? My budget will be around $1800 and I want at least a 50"
