Same here. It is a show that I enjoy, but I just don't watch much TV.

LOL. No danger of that ever happening in my place, can't imagine wanting to talk to a device, I don't even use that feature in my phone....seems silly to talk to other than a real person. I'm old, tho. :)

I don't have conversations with Alexa, "she" is way too dumb for that!
I tell ask her for the news and weather in my bathroom when I wake up.
In the living room, I ask her to shuffle my music.
In the kitchen, I'll ask her to set a timer (for when to flip the steaks, etc) as I'm stepping out the door with plate and tongs in hand.
All of them get asked to play music depending on where I am. Also, excellent with music trivia such "tell me about the band, Grass Roots. (it reads the introductory section from wikipedia).
Really, there is no way to have a decent conversation with Alexa, but if you think of her as a dumb version of the computer from Star Trek, that is where the Dot is worthy. I would not buy an Echo again. Using the Dot with powered speakers gets you a fine "voice command" music system.

Yeah, I get it that some like to talk to things. Silence is golden? The kitchen timer thing sounds the most tempting if I were elbow into some sticky mess, but I just glance at the clock (or set a timer if I'm not going to be in the kitchen monitoring real-time). I still don't entertain the idea of walking around the house and talking to some internet-active device (that undoubtedly shares this info with several companies that I'd rather keep in the dark), rather have it off. I'm not on the Enterprise :) As a single guy, I like silence except when I activate the audio system....manually.

The episode was great. Especially when the dot, google home, and siri all had a giant loop giving each other commands.
