source selector switch

Hi everyone. As a new member of Audioholics, I'm wondering if someone could help me out with the following issue.

I am searching for an audiophile quality selector switch will allow me to feed the signals from two separate amplifiers to one pair of speakers. In my setup I have a Marantz AV receiver which I use primarily for surround source listening (SACDs and DVD-audio discs) while I have a second Emotiva power amp connecting to an Emotiva DAD/preamp which I use for stereo-only listening.

I found and have purchased a product made by Russound which serves this purpose. The problem, however, is that the connectors on the unit are quite small and spaced very closely together, which does not permit the use of heavy speaker cables. Ideally, I'd like to find a unit where all of the connectors are banana-plug capable.

I have in fact hooked up the Russound using speaker pin connectors at the end of my cables. However, I would really like to find a unit which will accommodate banana plugs. If anyone has any suggestions, I would really appreciate it.

I heard Jim Salk has something like that. Call Salk. Dennis Murphy has mentioned this "magic" box numerous times.

Why would you use 2 amps anyway?

You don't think they sound exactly the same, except maybe the volume is different due to the difference in voltage gain? :D

You think the Emotiva preamp sounds better than the Marantz? I don't think so. :D

I would just use the Marantz for both music and movies. Turn OFF all EQ, RC, DSP for music.
