Just the thing we need here in earthquake country.

Those are something I could use for my fairly light, narrow floor standers on a carpeted floor. Only turnoff for me is the price though.

One suggestion for the manufacture on securing the speaker to the outrigger would be coming up with some type of padded screw-type clamps that you tighten to the sides of the speaker. That would eliminate the need to drill into speakers that don't have any mounting holes in the bottom.

Price turnoff - agreed. They are not exactly an impulse buy :)

Suggestion - also agree. Good point and I'll pass that along.

Didn't read the review, but I do have some comment regarding the new site layout:

TOO MANY ADS. Seriously, when I opened the page, I asked myself, "Where's the content?". The number and size of ads are very distracting.

Didn't read your post though do have some comments on the format.

TOO MANY CAPITALIZED WORDS. Very distracting. Seriously, did your caps lock get stuck or something? Or maybe I should have put this comment in a different thread? :p

Uh...hijacked thread...probably not really intended from the get-go to be...

I agree about the clamp-on type spikes. The thought of drilling holes/damaging my speakers would be a serious turn-off.
The idea behind the product is great.

Wow, very nice indeed! I prefer the look of them to the (fairly nice but scuffed) plinths of my Monitor Audio GR20s! I might have to try them out. According to the website they have a plainer, "budget" version, too. That might be just the thing for my Monitor Audio Bronze 3's that have no bases but are threaded for them.

The new site has a "post a forum thead" one button solution. Posts the thread under "admin".

umm... ok so my post got deleted. In any case, I agree it's too expensive. I'd certainly be more interested in them personally if they came down to 50-60% the price, $100+ for each seems a bit much.

And I like the idea of attaching via bolts for speakers that support that, but I agree there should be some clamping mechanism for speakers that don't because I also don't really want to be drilling in to my speakers.

Sorry, not trying to be Secret Admin. I've had a few threads hijacked, unitentionally, on other forums and it gets a little frustrating. I've also done the hijacking, unintentionally, too...my bad!

I like the product alot but as others have said the price is a tad high,as for the suggestions of some kind of clamp to hold the speaker i cant see that being a good idea for the long haul,i would think that in order for any type of clamp to have enough grip to hold the speaker it would require some serious ft pounds of torque & that cant be good for the speaker cabinet.

I personally like the inserts alot, however i didnt see any mention of a template to install the inserts, with a template & instructions of how to mark the holes using the template & instructions how to mark the depth on the drill bit anybody should be able to install them properly without tearing the speaker up.

Like I said in the review, there were instructions on the Soundocity website. I didn't include them because a) I wasn't going to test them and b) I'd be encouraging people to void their warranty on their speakers. The Polk speakers in the Soundocity instructions had an attached plinth so they didn't have the option of using the manufacturer installed threaded inserts. Regardless, before you start taking apart or drilling your equipment, you should be aware that you're giving the manufacturer free reign to give you the finger when you call with a problem (even if it could in no way be related).

Sounds like a great product for homes with small children and/or pets.

When I first read this comment I thought, "Is he suggesting that using the spikes against children/pets would be a good deterrent?!" and then I realized - more stable :p . Yes. Agreed.
