Sound system

Hi all,

A rookie question...I purchased a Pioneer Elite VSX-01TXH AV receiver late last year, I am looking to purchase some speakers for my room.
I am looking at the Polk Audio RM95 surround system (which will include the DSW 400 sub). I have a limited budget or would obviously dig deeper.
Would this system be of decent quality? Is there a system of equal dollar value that would be better than the RM95 series? Do I need to a sub cable, or will regular speaker wire suffice?
I know this may sound rookie(ish), but that is what I am, really.

What's the budget? The Polk system looks to be around $1000. I'm sure we can find something better. This system will definitely perform better than the Polk, but may be above your budget. http://www.svsound.com/products-sys-sbs_black.cfm
