Sound System for PC User

Hi, this is my first post here (I'm too Beginner) .

I'm looking for upgrading my music lestining experience (which is always through my PC "MP3s and Audio CDs"). Currently i've an Aiwa hi-fi 2.0 (120 watt RMS) pluged to my Creative sound card which give acceptable sound quality. My budget is about $1500 and my room dimensions are 15 x 14 x 9. what do you advice my guys : buying a new Hi-Fi with 5.1 speakers (Sony for example ), PC surrond speakers (Creative or Logitech) , A/v reciver,....etc.
