Hello everyone,
I have an OPPO dvd player, when I play a movie and
up-convert to 720P or 1080i the sound is not synced with the mouth movement.
So it looks like an old Godzilla movie.
Does anyone have a remedy or suggestion?
Thanks

I believe it is a function of the video/audio signal: It takes the audio signal less time to get from the DVD player to your ears than it does the video signal to get from the DVD palyer to the display. most receivers have a delay function to sync the audio. I have lip-sync issues on occasion, but it completely depends on the source. Some of the HD PBS programs are terrible, but the majority of are right on. Oddly, some standard def. commercials are also really off, as are some scenes on older DVDs.

My wife is really sensitive to lip-sync issues, and she sometimes as to leave the room for some scenes when we are watching TV because she cannot handle the delay.

If it is specific to the 720p/1080i up conversion send an email to Oppo, they have pretty good customer support.

many a/v receivers have adjustable audio delay; you can change the amount of time it takes for the sound to be played out of your system in milliseconds. Of course, this doesn't always work, because if the audio is ahead of the video and your audio delay is set to zero, then you can't remedy it that way. Can't turn it into a negative value b/c it hasn't received a signal before zero seconds!!
