Sound Machines for children

Hello Everyone,
I am interested in what makes a given sound machine best for children? is it the white noise, pink noise, or brown noise? Is it the low frequency it can produce or a deep bass?

Thanks

Nick

I didn't know what a sound machine is. I looked it up.
Is that what you're looking for, a box that makes noise?
I would go to Goodwill or some used place that sells old used stuff.
Buy an old radio with a dial tuner and tune in different types of static.
See if that works. It should cost .99 cents to $2.79.

I am not being sarcastic. I realize some people like to have fans going, or nature sounds, or other types of noise when they are trying to fall asleep.
Have you tried anything yet? Have you already determined that your child wants noise?(pink or white, or whatever.)

Why would you want kids falling asleep this way?

We use a sound machine for our son. He is a light sleeper and has issues falling asleep with road noises and general household noises going on.

It has multiple sounds to choose from. I think rain, nature, etc. But, he goes with white noise. It has adjustable volume control. It has a built in timer which can be set. Once set, it is one button to turn it on for the time period selected.

It has been a really great way to help him fall asleep and if it sounds like something ideal, then I strongly encourage it.

I just looked on Amazon, and this is the model my son has. He's been using it for 2-3 years (or more?) now and he is 12.
