I have just purchased a home theatre reciever/ speaker combo, it makes all the difference to watching dvds, but frequently, I notice a sound/picture lag, that is sometimes barely there, and othertimes is very obvious, and annoying.
I have studied the books for my components, and fiddled with eevery setting I could think of, but still no difference.
Can anyone offer any advice? :

assuming you aren't strictly watching old kung fu movies, which is slower.. the picture or the voices ??

it would also help to tell us a little about your system.. what kind of TV, receiver, and dvd player

the more info you provide, the better the chance that someone here will know something about it :)

Do you have a Sony DVD player?

Does the timing correct itself if you press pause and then play again?

cont.

oops sorry,
TV- Sony KV_DR29
Home Theatre- Sony HT-DDW760
DVD Player- Sharp DVD-740

I've had the Dvd player for 2+ years and it is as good as on my old tv, using 2ch audio only.
No Kung Fu movies, the problem seems to be worse on new releases.
sometimes it can be hard to tell which is slower, but I think its the voices
I have tried pausing it, but it dosn't seem to make much difference.
