Sound Dynamics by Energy??

Well, I was in Costco today and came across a Sound Dynamics by "Energy" sub. It is an 8 inch sub, with a 80 watt RMS amp. and a fixed crossover at 120 Hz. I decided to pick it up and try it out for $180 CDN and based on Costco lenient return policy.
So far it is just OK, being an 8 ich it certainly lacks the "boom" I am used to. I still need to play with it some more though.

My question: Does anyone know anything about Sound Dynamics or have any experience with this unit?

Yep, its Energy. Must be some sort of side project.

That subwoofer is the same thing as the one in the Act6 package.

There towers are identical to their now discontinued XL line.

It's a quality sub, but it might not be enough for you room.

Energy, Athena and Mirage are all owned by API.

Ans, so was Sound Dynamics, another API brand that was that was the direct descendent of the Athena Audition series. They were best known for the RTS series, of which I own a pair of RTS 3's, a small bookshelf speaker in that series.

Maybe they are resurrecting the brand?

Sound Dynamics was the original name for the Athena line from API. API includes Energy, Mirage, Athena, and it looks like Sound Dynamics once again.
