Sound cuts out when alt-tabbing from a game when using eARC

I am having a weird issue where sound cuts out for 2 seconds when I alt-tab from a game using eARC. I also get intermittent static or garbled sound, but it is fairly infrequent, and happens when nothing should be changing in Windows, such as when I am just reading a website. However I do not have the issue when connected to the receiver. Unfortunately I have to sacrifice Freesync when doing so.

I have an AMD 7800xt graphics card, an LG C2 TV, and a Pioneer VSX-935 receiver.

Any thoughts on what the issue is? Anyone have this happen to them before?

I’ve had a similar issue with my 7800XT, LG C2, and eARC to a Pioneer receiver. Audio cuts for 2 secs when alt-tabbing, and I get rare static too. No issues when bypassing eARC, but then I lose Freesync. Seems like an HDMI/eARC handshake glitch. Anyone found a stable fix for this?
