Sound Advice

hi i am new here. i am also new to home theater. i live much too far to be able to audition most speakers. i am searching for a pair of towers selling for a maximum of $1,000.
All i have now is a yamaha rxv-659 , a pair of c-r3 energy speakers and a sony sawx700 subwoofer.
I have read of the PSB t55 speakers,the monitor 9 and the klipsch rf52(which i have heard).
Please can someone give me your best pick of these 3 speakers?
I listen to mostly music and i have a small living room that is 14feet by 16 feet.
Any help is appreciated.

No one can tell you which of the 3 sounds better to you. You have to audition all the speakers in your price range and decide. Energy makes some nice speakers so you may want to stay with that brand. The bigger bang for the buck might be a good sub vs. the Sony you have. A good set of bookshelfs and a great sub will out perform a good pair of towers and a so-so sub.

As i posted before i am in no position to audition many speakers. I actually in the Caribbean and not much places here for that. Thats why i am craving your understanding and your help. I will work wit the subwoofer that i have for now. The fact is i do not have any front speakers at all. The brands i listed are somewhat preffered.
Some thing with a clean, smooth and detailed sound. it does not have to go very low. Appreciated.

Sorry; I thought the Energy's you listed were being used as the mains. Out of the ones you listed I would pick the PSBs. My other favorites are listed below but some are out of your price range.

thanks Greg. are these in order of preference? I dont know what any one else thinks about my options but i may just lean to order the image t55s. I will get the matching center shortly after.

No the order is just random. The T-55's are great speakers and you will probably be very pleased with them. The thing that turned me away from PSB was the simple fact that I couldnt find a local dealer to audition them. The only dealer that PSB in my area had the B15 Monitors and could order the T-55 but wanted me to pay him up front so I crossed them off my list. The top 3 to my ears were:
Paradigm studio series
AV123 Rockets
Monitor Audio RS series

I would have loved to keep the T-55 in my selection since the B-15 sounded good to me but the dealer frustration wouldnt allow it.

ok but i noticed that you love the paradigms. How does the monitor 9 sound to you? Do you still think the images will be better than they are?

To tell you the truth; I was not impressed with any of the paradigms until I listened to the studios and the sigs. I would pick the PSB over the monitors.
