Sony SXRD 60 problems

hi,
I have 2 problems witht he SXRD that I bought in Dec 2005.

1. when it starts up, it displays 720p- I dont see anything in the menu that can make it display 1080p. Am i missing something here? I thought that these TVs wre fixed pixel displays, upscaling anything to their native res: in this case i assumed 1080p. not true?

2. I have the Tv connected to a DVD (Dish) and an DVD player (Oppo). I use a Harmony 880 remote, and both devices are connected by HDMI to the TV. Sometimes when I switch to watching a DVD, the image is gone, and the only way to get it back is to unplug the HDMI plug and put it back again- the image appears instantly. Is this something others have faced? I called the store where I bought the TV and they said it could be a fault witht he TV or the cable or the DVD player........I am not sure about the DVD player, i guess it could be the cord, dont know about the TV.

other than that the TV is awesome. I know these sound kinda small problems, but they bother me...
Any comments appreciated.

Sounds like a HDCP problem. If I go hdmi from my cable box to my sxrd I get a HDCP error. My cable co., Adelphia says that HDMI has not been rolled out yet and I should use componet cables. I use both. If HDMI acts up, I switch to component. Your DVD should work directly HDMI to your TV. I love my 50" SXRD. Great picture. You won't get a 1080p picture.
