Dont even bother with the Sony, they are literally a piece of junk for audio equipment. Onkyo is a great company, with great parts. Their amplifiers are far superior to the Sony's and will sound better. Easily do the Onkyo over the Sony. Also the Onkyo is a high current receiver, which the Sony's are not. Even looking at a higher line Onkyo, it is usually the same equipment, just with more features and a little more power.
