In regards to true wattage and output, and using JBL Northridge E100 Speakers....

Which Receiver do you think will PUMP OUT the MOST WATTAGE (True Wattage) (Umphhh)?

The Sony STR-DA5000ES
or
The Yamaha RX-V2500

Please email me at jcoleman@heartlandcorporation, and give me your opinions...

I want to get to purchasing one of these, but NEED everyone's opinion!!!

I would choose the Yamaha. As far as "umphh", I doubt you can hear any power difference between the two units.

I'd be real careful before buying a Sony x000 ES series. When I was researching about a month ago, I couldn't find anyone on the net saying anything good about the ES (though alot of people were perfectly fine with the cheaper STR series).

I ended up with a Yamaha myself, but a Denon 2805 or Onkyo 701 or 801 would be worth looking into as well (unless you have Klispch speakers, in which case I'd exclude Yamaha as they don't match up well).

Things might have changed, but do your homework.

Leprkon, I am almost sure Sony receivers always start with "STR", e.g. STR-DA5000ES, STR-DE997, STR-DB930............ The cheaper lins is the STR-DEXXX one. The STR-DAXXXXES is the top line.
