I'm puzzled. I have a Samsung DVD, playing through a Sony Soundbar into a Samsung HD tv. All connections are HDMI. The issue is that even though I have the Soundbar volume @ +6 for both the center speaker and the sub, and even though I crank the volume up to 40 (max) on the remote, I still don't get very loud sound (from the Soundbar system). In the menu audio set up, the defaults are Digital out = PCM (vs. Bitstream) and the Dynamic Compression = On. Also, default for PCM Down Sampling = On (honestly, I don't even know what PCM means). Is this a "settings" issue or is the Soundbar just not up to the task?
