Sony SA-W2500 clicking noise

My SA-2500 subwoofer has suddenly started "clicking" every 45-60 seconds.

I've turned it off via the power switch. I unplugged it for a few hours. The clicking persists.

I guess it could be chalked up to a bad capacitor or something. The weird part is that the noise started when I bought a new TV. Prior to that, there was no clicking.

Can anyone make sense of this, or offer any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

This is a common way that the switching power supplies of subs fail. Do not use it and keep it unplugged. It is now a dangerous fire hazard, and there is a significant risk of it setting fire to the driver.

Take it to the recycling center.
