Just purchased the Arcam AVR 600. Thinking about upgrading to the Arcam BDP-100, from my Sony PS3 for my blu-ray player. Anyone using the AVR 600 along with the BDP-100? How is it? Thanks for the info. John

I see no advantage other than it matching the appearance of the rest of your home theater. That being said, the PS3 will probably still be part of the system so it's not really replacing anything, it's just adding cost and equipment that isn't really necessary (read redundant). If you'd like to expand on features, playback modes, and additional media playback, then I would suggest looking at Oppo's offerings which add SACD, DVD-Audio support, MKV support over USB 2.0, excellent upscaling performance for standard DVDs, and HDMI 1.4a w/ ARC and 3D capability. I don't know of any universal format player manufacturers that match Oppo's ability to offer astounding audio-centric features and quality at such competitive prices.

+1. I've listened to Arcam players before and while they are nice, they aren't really going to offer much over what you get in the Oppo. In fact, there is a very good chance the internals of the Arcam are Oppo to begin with, since they used Oppo as a base for years for their DVD players.
