The choices:

Sony KDF-42E2000
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Sp7p4FhCdAi/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=147350&I=158KD42E2K

or

Samsung HL-S4266W

I am leaning more towards the Sony. I want to stay under $1500. The tv itself cannot be more than 42" wide(existing entertainment center) Also considering maybe a slim 46"? Height and depth are not an issue. Room size is 15'4 X 15'6 with viewing position approximately 10'. I don't know which one to get. I am about to flip a coin and decide. Any advice, comments, recommendations???? Thanks

not sure about the TV's but Crutchfield? Yikes, there has GOTTA be a cheaper place to buy that tv.

Not purchasing either TV from the places shown. Just putting out a quick view on the 2 sets in question. I am probably gonna get one or the other next weekend, but still would like anyones opinions on these. Thanks.

Samsung makes the LCD panels used for Sony, so the panels in the similarly priced models are exactly the same. I'd personally go with Samsung for LCD, and I'd skip DLP completely (rainbow effect).

I do have a Sony 42" LCD and couldn't be happier, but I'm sure you'll be fine with either one, though.

Cheers / Avliner.
