I have a Sony KF-42WE610 LCD rear projection TV. I know the units display is 720P and all signals are upgraded to that resolution. Because there is no real choice in the matter.
When using a DVD player and enabling progressive scan there is no improvement in video quality. Does the sony capture both frames from an interlaced source to make the final picture? Or does it interpolate the data? If it was interpolation I would think that there would be a small improvement in quality when using a progressive scan source.
I am just curious. I really enjoy the TV. With the exception of one black mark against Sony's name concerning the bulb / bulb powr supply problem that I had. I will think twice about purchasing Sony again and I will defenitely get the extended warranty next time.
