Sony LCD or Pioneer Plasma?

I'm in a pickle and it's a good pickle to be in-

I've narrowed my choices down on HDTV's to the 40" Sony LCD Bravia and the 43" Pioneer Plasma Display. Both go for around $3300 and Ultimate Electronics/Best Buy.

Here's what I use my tv for: Xbox 360, DVD's and NFL Football, ESPN, other sports, etc.

I know that plasmas have a knack for burn-in with video games, but I went to the Pioneer website (hey, I know they're trying to sell me something) and I read the review here at audioholics and it looks like they're getting the burn-in under control with their plasmas. I love the plasma because of it's HDTV capability, especially with sports and DVD's. Plus, my best friend has the 50" Pioneer (not the ELITE) and he has an Xbox 360 and he has yet to get into trouble with burn-in.

Really the only thing that is clinging me onto the Sony LCD Bravia is the burn-in factor. LCD's don't burn-in. They're great for gaming. So, what do you think? This is a big chunk of change and playing Xbox is big for me. And please don't offer any other suggestions than either the Sony or the Pioneer.

I would not recommend the pioneer, I had the pioneer and if you want to game on it, be ready to see some image retention on it, it will go away after a while. I had the PDP-5060. and the picture on this set it's very nice but not for gaming, the tv was calibrated with Avia disc and after just an hour or so, you could see the image retention on it, I hope this helps, I ended up buying the Panasonic THpx5060u or something like that, I game for 8 hours straight without any image retention. hope this helps

Make sure you break in the plasma, if that's what you end up going with, as that will help to reduce the amount of burn-in, imo... Never display a static image within the first hundred hours of viewing.

I would Sony LCD Bravia as well; and for same reason, this one is perfect for gaming.
