Ok,

I am wondering if I should buy a Sony 9100es? There is one place in my area that is clearing these out and have a Demo model that comes with the 5 year ES warranty and they had missed tagged it and they are charging $300.00 for it. They meant to put it at $600 but the person that put the tag out thougt the model was a 3100es.

I know with upscales now at 1080P would it be worth it to buy the 9100es for $300? I am looking for a player that has good video, SACD, and 2 channel output. I am more of an audiophile and some reviews say that the 2 channel CD quality is excellent (great soundstage, clarity perfect, not too far off from my audiophile specific CD player), and others say it sucks (hollow and not a good stereo soundstage).

So please let me know.

I will be hooking this up to my new Denon avr-3808ci with a Sapphire Audio Front, center, back speakers. The fronts are the Sapphire STIII's the big towers with 2 - 6" woofers with a 1 and half inch tweeter with built in 2 - 8" sub woofers near the bottom of the speaker. I am using a 1080i plasma but will be upgrading to 1080p plasma maybe in a year or so.

Let me know if this is worth the deal/mistag?

Thank you!

I'd buy it before they correct it...just for the audio; I think this would be a steal. I've read this is a very good audio player. Worst case, you could sell it for more and buy another player...

Yeah. I looked at them before deciding on Denon. I think Denon will give you better pq, but the Sony is adaptable for mods, has separate clocks, etc. (as opposed to the 3100 which some say is the same, but it is not). For $300.00 with a 5 year warranty, what's the concern? It's a bargain.
