Sony digital audio/video control center/bell pvr receiver

I have a Sony digital audio/video control center (STR-K900) and just got a bell pvr receiver. I connected a HDMI cord from my pvr receiver, to the HDMI video 2 IN on my sound system, and a second HDMI cable from the HDMI monitor out on my sound system, to the HDMI connection on my TV but my speakers are not working. It seems so basic but can not understand what I'm missing. Before I had a 6141 HD bell receiver and it worked then

Your bell cable box should be connected only to one (two) hdmi inputs on the A/V receiver and another cable from A/V receiver hdmi OUTPUT to the TV input
you should also have your avr input to be set correctly and same for Bell box to use hdmi for sound and not any other output.

That is how I had it but it didn't work. One from the cable box to the sound system and one from the sound system to the tv.

Welcome to the wonders of HDMI, and thanks for reminding me why I avoid it like the plague. I’d suggest trying a separate digital connection, either optical or coax.
