The link is not working for me:confused:

I think this HD needs to be worked out first, bugs eliminated and some other issues. I also believe you will need a large TV to take advantage of it's capability with good discs.
Try this one.

I just read where the Toshiba HD DVD player Best Buy is selling takes a minute to boot up, and another 45 seconds to load the disc. To top that off, the movie freezes every now and then, and when you go to replay, the picture and sound are sometimes not in sync. Can you imagine?

Nice to see they will output 1080p from the start.

This was of concern though:
Dolby® Digital Plus(Dolby® Digital audio stream only), Dolby® TrueHD (Dolby® Digital audio stream only) dts®-HD --- (dts audio stream only) Digital Out and decoding capability
It doesn't state if this is only on the Optical/Coaxial Digital Output or if it applies to the 5.1 Analogue Output also.

cheers:)

I did get a movie to freeze on me but only when I was rewinding and trying to play again. Bootup time is not a minute but it does take what seems like a long time. DISC loading is longer also, the player reads the disc first and verifies if its an HD DVD or a standard DVD

My projector takes time to warm up anyway so by the time it happens the player is ready also

I imagine there are going to be a couple firmware updates for this player

Are the blueray players going to allow you to look at HD DVD's on component like the Toshiba players do or will it down res to 540p also.
