i need to buy a home theater that would give me the surround sound experience. i hope this is the right section.
i need to get my PS3's and satellite receiver's 5.1 channel (or DTS) output on a home theater.
after a lot of research i discovered the system i have would not decode a 5.1 signal coming from my PS3 on an optical cable.
so, i switched to searching for a new HT that has multiple HDMI input and 1 HDMI output. as i was told the HT would decode the 5.1 channel audio from the PS3 and output it.
i almost bought BDV-E985W. but right before he swipes my ATM card. i asked him to get me internet access to check the specs again.
checked google and found the HT's spec sheet from Sony Asia Pacific. and it says this on some of audio decoding (DTS, etc): "Yes (HDMI in: No) / Yes (HDMI in: No) / Yes (HDMI in: No)"

all i am looking for is the 5.1 experience. i have a lenses cleaner that happens to have a software called, surround check. it plays audio on the different channels (Front right, Front Left, Center, Rear right, Rear left) and i would expect rear to work alone.
would the system in the link above do the job.
