Hey Guys..I am new to this forum..I am planning to buy a blue ray player. I read some of the post and I am planning to buy the Sony BDPS300 Player..What do you all say? Shall i go for it? Also my concern is I found that player here checkcost.co.uk/sony-bdps300-blu-ray-player/p/160903/(wasnt able to provide the hyperlink as it is my first post) where around 21 or 22 stores are listed. In that pixmania is having this player for £206 while amazon has the same for £305.38..I want to know why is there such a huge difference in the prices between the two? Advice me guys..I am really confused..

Do you have a surround system and do you plan on taking advantage of the high resolution audio found on Blu-Ray discs? If so, I would not recommend that player. It only supports DD+ and it won't even bitstream anything else. The other thing about that player that drives me nuts (I have set up many) is that it is insanely slow. It takes well over a minute to boot up to the point when you can open the tray and depending on the movie it can take another minute and a half to two minutes to load. The response to remote commands in Blu-Ray menus is also very slow.
