Just got the Sony BDPS1 and have a couple of questions. Does it pass DTS-HD thru it's digital outputs? Has anyone had any problems with it locking up and not outputting any sound and going to a stuttering frame-by-frame display? When I installed it yesterday it worked for several hours and then went into this behaviour and would not play even if you skip ahead or back in chapters (even those it had already played). I tried both shutting it off and then unplugging it briefly with no success. I unplugged it overnight and it seems to play fine today.

It will only output DTS-HD via HDMI, and currently there are no receivers that can process DTS-HD.

However if you have a HDMI equiped receiver with audio decoding you can have the player convert DTS-HD or Dolby TrueHD to 7.1 LPCM and output it via HDMI.

Make sure you check for the latest firmware updates, as all of the Sony's have been getting updates lately. You'll have to download it, burn it onto a disc and install it on the player.

Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD will pass their 5.1 core via standard digital outputs, essentially giving you "normal" DD and DTS.
