Hello All!
I just purchased the new 50 inch Sony SXRD KDS-50A2000. I am taking delivery Wednesday! I also bought the HiFi Buys Home theater bundle which includes the Denon AVR-1604 and Polk 5 speaker surround system. I also bought a Denon DVD player (dont know the model but it does have HDMI out)
Comcast is providing the digital cable and I have the DVR box as well.
Does anyone have any suggestions on the most efficient way to hook all this stuff up?
To sum it up:
TV (Has 2 HDMI inputs)
DVD Player (HDMI Out)
Cable Box (HDMI Out I hope)
Receiver (One Optical, DVI and the rest component inputs)
Surge Protector (Battery Backup)
My initial thinking was to run the HDMI outs from the DVD and Cable to the TV. The kicker is i only have one Optical in on the Denon Receiver....so do I use it on the DVD or the Cable?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Best Regards, Zach
Yes, if the cable box has HDMI send it to the TV direct along with the DVD.
Check to see if the receiver doesn't also have a coax digital in. I just cannot see it with 1 digital audio only.
Depending on how you will watch TV with the HT system at all times or just the internal TV speakers if it has one. In that case run the cable TV audio to TV. If using HT full time, run it to the receiver.
Don't forget to calibrate the audio system and TV, or have the TV ISF calibrated. It is not even close to the TV standards out of the box.
