Yes, I am the proud owner of a new top rated Sony XBR TV. I will not be able to take delivery for a few days but was wondering if any one can give me some tips on setting up this TV? I am planning on using my DVE through a component video hook-up to calibrate it.
I had a real bugger of a problem trying to tune my older Toshiba AF27 analog flat screen with the DVE and other tuning disks. Contrast was not responsive, neither was color nor tint, even black level was affected to a lesser degree. In the end after hours & hours of tinkering I finaly had to gestimate the settings on the Toshiba. I hope the Sony is a bit easier to calibrate. I am still trying to get over the $2200 price I paid when I had planned on spending $1300
on a comperable Toshiba.
Good salesman I guess and then again there is absolutely no compromise with this XBR set- said to be the finest glass tube tv ever produced, that is what really sold me, especially since I cannot afford a plasma job at this time.
