I've been intrigued by the new song tower super charged for quite a bit; any opinions on these vs the standard song towers?

Even though these are called SuperCharged SongTowers, I think of them as HT2-TLs with a smaller footprint and a lower price.

Their cabinet is like the SongTower (actually a little smaller) but their price, sound quality, and overall performance is more like the HT2-TL.

I completely agree with this. The supercharged version will give you more detail and midrange resolution, and deeper and more authoritative bass.

I'm going to give these a serious look at the end of the year. :)

You already have the ST. I don't see a significant difference going to the STSC. To me it's like owning a Salk & wanting a Philharmonic. Yes, they are all great, but I just don't see a significant difference.

Hey-o, we actually agree for once. :D The step up from SongTower ribbons (is that what you have?) to SC-ST's won't be huge. It would probably be better to wait until you can move up to the SoundScape line, if that's even doable.

Those are good points. When I purchased my standard ST set (pair + center), I was very tempted by the Veracity HT2TL but figured the ST would meet all my needs. For all intentional purposes, the ST are the best speakers I've ever owned, and meet all rational needs for my listening.

Recently, as a matter of no real purpose other than fun, I've been kicking around doing mostly 2.0 or 2.1 and have in fact disconnected my Rythmik F12. I've been listening a bit louder as well. Just checking all my options.

Certainly, if price were no consideration, I'd likely end up with a pair of ATC SCM300 AT (3-way active), but of course price always is a factor :D. So I'm looking at the Salk line (who also have an excellent "trade in" program) for possible future upgrades.

In the next year or so, I'll be checking out lots of options and may very well keep my current speakers for several more years... ah, but the chase is fun!
