found these little beauties a couple of days ago..

http://www.accessories4less.com/cgi-bin/item/PR100

for less than twenty bucks, I picked up two full sets of 3 feet (1M) 5.1 interconnects. they are extremely good quality, with eight-split gold-plated connectors, full shielding, and a cable that is well over a quarter inch thick.

Monster probably sells a similar cable for about thirty dollars... these are less than a tenth of that... maybe you don't have all the pretty colors to choose from and it's described as a video cable instead of audio, but for $150 in savings per set, I'm willing to install them one at a time !:D

So if I was to purchase an amp and add it to my system I could use this cable to connect the amp to the receiver/pre-pro? For that price?

Yes. They are Acoustic Research brand, which is a very good brand that competes with Monster for a fraction of the price.

What other functions could these cables pull off? I mean, could they replace component cables? SACD/DVD-Audio? Digital Coax? Subwoofer?

And, if they can, is the consumer paying higher prices for the other cables just to have the barrel of RCA jack have a different ring color?

I just picked up a dozen @ $1.49 for sacd. Great product at an even greater price. Thanks Leprokon.

These cables should have no trouble passing a digital signal when used as a coaxial cable. They are 75 ohm cables, which is the same as a coaxial cable. I'm going to buy these just to have them on hand. These things will do great for any connection with RCA inputs.

What a fantastic deal!

pzaur: I just received mine a couple of days ago, and my only complaint is that they're a bit stiff. Otherwise, fantastic cables at a fantastic price. They might as well be giving them away. I posted the caveat about digital signal because in my correspondence with Leprokon, he wrote that he had some issues with them as digital interconnects. He used them as component video or analog sound flawlessly. jfyi Cheers.

Johnd - thanks for the info! It wasn't my intention to offend if I did.

No offense taken pzaur. I failed to note that in the prior post...just clarifying. I raised the same issue with Leprokon; that's how it came up. The solder joint on them is phenomenal. Stock up cuz they're a great deal.

Bought as many as the boss/wife would allow -> 9

Does anyone know why these are so cheap through accessories4less? They're also blowing out the the 2M for $4.99 and the coaxial 1M for $3.99. Is this model-line being discontinued?

Keep an eye on the AC4L web site. I picked up cables a couple of years ago for a great price. I even called them up and got great pricing on custom Tributaries and Ixos cable.

Also, got some good deals on Canton speakers if anybody is interested. Only problem for me is they are in Orlando, FL. Means I have to pay Florida sales tax :(

They're uncolored (gray only, no other colors), so maybe they made a huge batch of 'em and are now overstocked. The are a 1st rate cable though.
