Sometimes "ghosting" sometimes not

I am noticing something on my Panasonic HD plasma. First I want to make sure I know if I am using the right term. To me Ghosting means that when objects are still on the screen they look very clear, but when that object moves you almost see tracers and it becomes slightly blury...its not a fluid movement.

Now here is what I notice. It seems to happen more often then not. One video game I play "Call of Duty" has a perfect picture when objects move., if I play Halo 2 there is slight ghosting. With almost all DVDs I watch there is slight gohsting.

Here is my question. When it comes to my DVD player is it the DVDs? the Player? or could it even be the limitations of my Plasma?

I figure and hope its not the plasma becuase Call of Duty looks great and I would be pist to find out my 7,500 Plasma is only medium at best.

your video game might be due to the lighting modelling used in the game. some games use three-dimensional halos around objects. newer models do a better job, but the older models have already been written and reduce costs.

the dvd problem could be caused by cheesey wires. if you used the ones right out of the DVD box, they usually have very poor shielding which would produce the results you describe.

don't panic- I'm not sending you out for a set of Monster-ly priced cables

you can pick up a set of Phillips gold series at the nearest Walmart for about twenty bucks for the three-wire component video set (6 foot length) that will be much much better than the in-box wires. (and I do use exactly those same cables on my systems)
