As for the TV, I like those older ones in the nice wood cabinets. We had one when I was growing up, although ours had rotary analog dials. Sure, those tubes are dated, but the cabinets were nice.

thanks for the kind words, I love my system, I come home early from work sometimes in anticipation of listening to a new album or cd. The tv was free (of course) but it does indeed have a good picture still

I just use my hp computer's tv out function to watch free stuff online right now. We had a baby feb 5th so, no cable for now

they are indeed! He (Daniel) changes everyday... it's crazy!

he likes the system too... just not as loud as I do.

Thats some beautiful vintage stuff there, the tv brings back a lot of memories. Its nice to see that kind of equipment and that turn table is sweet.If I were you i'd never get rid of none of it and pass it down to my kids and keep it in the family. Thanks for sharing that really is beautiful .

found another nice little diamond in the rough..

Pioneer PD-F19 Elite, found this guy for $50 right after i bought the TT. I had to have it for that price, and it does indeed offer some improvement in the overall sound quality over the SPDIF out on the computer. I have always liked Pioneer cdp's, I noticed as a kid they were always better at playing scratched up cd's.

BTW, It's so cool to have someone else interested in your system, no? I love it. For many years (before the internet was so mainstream), I thought I was a strange person for being into av gear. Now, some people here make me feel quite 'normal' LOL

If you where "Normal". You would have a huge 1080 display, and a Bose Acoustimass system.
