I don't know wose more stoopid, the mayor or the constituients...

"Angry residents pelted utility crews with eggs as they tried to restore power in Bridgeport, Conn., after the mayor claimed the local power company had "shortchanged" the state's largest city as it tries to recover from superstorm Sandy."

See HERE for te entire, head-shaking story. No,this is NOT The Onion.

If nothing else, at least wait until they are done restoring your power.

Pull out the crews and send them to someone else who won't pelt them with eggs.

Even if the charge were true (I have no idea): it's not the fault of the guy out in the field making the repair. Even if it were his fault (it's not): pelting him with eggs won't make him give you more help.

Hey, that's what happens when you're from out of state and refuse to join the union.

Just kidding! :D :D

You've got to give people credit though: it's an innovative motivational tactic. :D
? If you want to motivate someone to quit getting your power back on, I guess you are right. Not sure you can call it innovative since monkeys fling feces. I think it is part of our natural instinct to throw crap!

I think inviting them in for a cup of warm coffee and a friendly game of twister might be more effective!:p

I suppose you have a point there. Still, it never crossed my mind that if I want someone to do something for me, I should throw eggs at them, hence why I find it so innovative. Effectiveness? Well that's a whole different story :p

In door plumbing is innovative. Throwing crap is problem solved for those without. :D

There is a parallel; I mean if I had eggs that had not seen refrigeration in over 12 hours, I'd much rather find a target than drop them in the trash.:)

I love it... People act stupid and so they left. It's just what I would have done. I'm not going to fight with you or argue - I'm just going to leave.

They were there to help. They are employees doing as they were told. True or false about how the restored power in the area doesn't matter to the average Joe just out doing his job and working long hours to get things back in place.

I've had it happen once that I went off on a guy who showed up at my home to hook the cable TV up to my house. Even as I was going off, I apologized because I knew he wasn't directly responsible, but I was angry. Still, it was verbal, not physical, and he got my message and got on his phone and he actively got it taken care of.

But throwing things? Yelling at techs who are actually doing their job? Only a few days after a major storm? Cripes! We've had power out for half a week for snow and other things, be happy it isn't freezing or 110 degrees outside!

What a bunch of morons.
