Some mojo for the bedroom

I finally replaced the aging 18 year old 27" TV set in my bedroom with an HDTV. Here's the new view from my bed. Yipee.

Some mojo, indeed! Looks great. How big is the screen, and how do you like it?

My 27" CRT is only 14 years old, so I guess that I still have some waiting to do... :)

Thanks. I like it a lot. Is a 37" 1080P LCD. Specifically Panasonic TC-37LZ85. It is driven by a DirecTV H21 receiver.

FMW --- very nice ;)

Adam --- 14 years old, you are due for an update also :)

Now that DishNetwork has introduced turbo HD, I am considering changing my "i"s to "p"s, er that is replacing my 1080i with 1080p :D

Why? Any 1080P TV will will deinterlace 1080i. The result is the same.

Teac receiver, ftw.

I've had that for a while. It has the best tuner section of any receiver I've ever encountered at any price. Only a stand alone tuner can compete with it.

What speakers are those?

Boston Subsat 6. Or maybe 7. I forgot. I bought them in the early 1990's. The sub sits on the floor next to the furniture. Nothing fancy. I bought the system for the bedroom just because it was small, compact and reasonably good sounding.

Very nice... your 37" Panny definitely trumps my 32" Westy.

I've moved stuff around a bit since then (gf moved in and told me the IKEA stuff goes to the guest bedroom), but the components (HD DVD, Sony, Dish) is still the same.

Thanks. But I don't have surround sound or even a center channel. The audio stuff is just stereo. Fine for the bedroom, though, and the TV is certainly a winner. I sure like the look of your receiver or amp. I still haven't gotten into black audio components. Probably never will.

That's a Sony HTIAB receiver, goes with the speakers you see sitting on the furniture as well as two others and a 8" passive sub.:D
