thats it firstly.
Now what i want to do is make it more powerful, i dont know how, i dont care how, i just want to get a Stronger more quality sound from them. I was hoping someone on tihs forum would know how.

Anything would be good, just a higher/better sound, also i would like to hook up another seperate subwoofer to it, is there any way i can?

thanks

p.s i know ive posted this in amps aswell. thanks to any help :)

Edit: i mean as in things like, people have told me increasing the wire size (CSA) to get less resistance, im a app leco so im happy to do any internal work on the amp itself etc :)

Replace it.

I don't mean this in a callous or off-hand way. I looked around for more info on this and, quite frankly, it is what it is. If you are not happy with it, I'm afraid there is not much you can do.

The good news is that you may be able to replace individual components over time, but even this I'm not sure of. There is no Ohm rating published anywhere. My suspicion is that this is one of those odd HTIB packages with some strange Ohm rating, like 140wpc @ 3 Ohm. The receiver may not even be capable of driving a normal 8 ohm speaker system.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I think you're in a love it or lose it situation.

Wow. $1,100 for that?!?!

Sorry dude, but you should have come here for info BEFORE you made your purchase. Plus you won't find too many people giving you positives comments about Sony audio equipment. I also think you're pretty much stuck.

Why don't you try to put that system on E-Bay and see what it goes for. I've seen people pay stupid money on there. And I would be willing to bet that a full Sony system like yours would sell for top dollar on there.

Then you could start over.

Just a Thought.

Been there; done that. My Sony HTIB speakers were 1.7 ohms...ouch.

I paid 800 bucks for mine and sold it after a year for 500 bucks so you still have hope.

In responce to the first post-

The only way could boost performance from that receiver would be to replace virtually everthing in regards to the amplifier. This means power supply, capacitors, output devices, resistors, diodes and anything else circuit wise on the amplifier board. After all the custom tailoring and time spent I would guess that you would be spending close to the same amount of money spent on the HTIAB to begin with if not more if you include labor time.

The speakers hurt the most, as they have the most impact on the SQ of any sound system. If you like loud speakers get some very efficient speakers like Klipsch and some decent amplification.
