I would like some opinions. I am currently working on finishing my basement and making a home theater area. I have decided to purchase a Mitsubishi HC5000BL Projector because of the 1080P. I will be using a PS3 onit for gaming and DVD's and also have a Xbox 360 which I am going to upgrade with the HD DVD player. At this time I do not have a HD cable box, but will get one. So I have a question about audio mainly. I want to get a new surround system includign speakers and receiver, but dont knwo what I should go with. I'm thinking wall mount speaters (flush would be nice) and a new receiver. I have an Onkyo one right now but it only has one optical spot. I want to get the best sound and quality out od all the equipment I have with room to grow. Any suggestions out there? Also, if anyone has an opinion on the Mitsubishi projector and can suggest another for the stuff I'm running I woul liek to hear that too. My main concern is quality. I want a VERY sharp picture and love great sound.
Thanks!
Besides the budget, room size and a drawing would help.
Speakers and room acoustics are your main concern. Wall mounted or in wall speakers, check out the Axiom web site. They have one line that only ticks our a few inches with the hardware being in the wall. Very nice and a great company.
You also want a sub, a good one. That needs regular audio cables and a 120V outlet. A cable TV coax will do for it as well.
Since you are working on the basement now, you need to know where you will place the speakers, your components and video for prewiring purposes. Depending on length of wire runs to the speaker, 14 ga should be fine.
For video I would use HDMI and component video prewired as not all video component supports HDMI yet. Is this a front projection system?
