How much is the equivalent Oppo universal player? Is it around $500.00US I would think ( may be its hope on my part ) that the Yammy's MSRP would drop after a year or two of being on the market. Don't forget American Thanksgiving sales (different day from us Canucks), Boxing Day sales ..should all be lower .

What do you need two HDMI outputs from a single source component?

I think but I'm not sure (but is a good question to send to Yamaha) if that HDMI output supports both HDMI1.3 and version 1.4.? I think it would be premature of Yamaha to not support the older version of HDMI since its still mainstream. I wish they would eliminate 3D as a whole as its nothing but a fad bent on giving people vision problems. Sorry if I'm holding back a little.

I dont think it will support the 1.3 version!... for sound it will be ok but not for the picture...that is why i need 2 hdmi outputs... one going to my receiver for the sound and one to the 3d hdtv for the picture...but your right...it would be a good question for yamaha! and others!..btw 3d is possible only via the 1.4 version!.

Just to be clear, audio/video of version V1.3B will still pass through this one output even if its configured for v1.4B (the new #D format) .

Hi,

The Blu-ray player can pass audio and video to a receiver or television. HDMI 1.4 still allows for audio and video transfer.
