Some advice on how to set up my system

So

I bought this HK avr270 and a HK 5.1 set of speakers.

Right now i have:
Laptop with a HDMI into the AVR270
appletv connected to the AVR270

HDMI from the avr270 to the television for picture

atm useing surround mode Logic 7 Music when air playing

Issues i haveing is that when playing videos and music from my laptop the AVR270 only let me choose to play from 2 of the speakers. (settings on pc says its 5.1 sound out from it)
Airplay from mac/pad doesent seem to make the sub make any action
tried setting up sub severeal times, manualy and automatic. It sounds all fine under the automatic, but once i start playings music again it seems left out.

Is there som other ways i can connect stuff, or some settings that i havent seen yet that i can change?

Doesn't the HK AVR have different sound fields which would engage the sub or an Audyssey/YPAO EQ type setup telling the sub to play up to 80Hz/100Hz for example? I've never owned an HK receiver so I don't know but the owners manual or an integoogle search should give you the answers.
