Sold my speakers, suggestions for new ones

After months of waiting and missed deals I have finally sold my Paradigm Phantom Towers and CC190 centre channel.

So now I find myself with an extra US$700 and savings of $300. With the absolute maximum of $1000, I wish to get myself some quality replacements that will make me enjoy music for years to come.

My 12x11x9 room has be totally treated by GIK acoustics with their panels and I am impressed with almost flat sound.

So now it comes to the speaker to be replaced. I like the warm sound of the phantoms, but the sound stage was small. I have dipoles for R&L surrounds, and Titans for rear.

I was thinking of trying the EMP E55 TI Tower or E5Ti Tower along with centre or perhaps the Axiom M60 along with a centre channel.

I know speaker are subjective where sound is concerned, but I a truly seeking your suggestions. I am in the Cayman Island go going around and listening is not much of an option.

I like the sound of the Paradigms so you may be able to figure out my taste in sound.

Need suggestions please, I will trust them as I have no choice but to buy blind. Help.

I would suggest researching Ascend Acoustics. I was looking at Paradigm Studio series then bought the 340's & 170's. I never heard them both in the same room but the Ascends are very similar and less expensive. If you like the bamboo look the Re-certified Sierra-1's are a good deal and you can upgrade them in the future if you would like.

Look into a pair of Salks. You might be able to get something used (or a demo model directly from Jim Salk) but they hold their value really well so there is not too much of a savings that way... Even though I haven't heard them (I own a pair of HT3s (their previous flagship model)) I would seriously consider the MBOW1/CAOW1 (http://salksound.com/caow1%20-%20home.htm). Price is right, and as with all things Salk they measure very flat.
Cheers, and good luck

If you don't like the "small' soundstage/imaging of the Paradigm after playing around with speaker placements (move them away from front wall), you might try the dipole (Magnepan $600/pr, MartinLogan) or bipole (DefTech BP) speakers. Audition some and see what you think.

When I go from most monopole (like Paradigm, Infinity P362, etc.) speakers to dipole and bipole speakers, the soundstage and image opens up quite a bit. But you have to see for yourself.

I actually called the Audioholics store today and was leaning towards buying the EMP E55 Ti, which I intend to buy tomorrow.

I was just concerned about the size of these speakers in my small room. I was also concerned about the small size of the center channel vs the towers.

What do you guys think about my concerns.
