So my dog broke my B&W 803S...

This may be a dumb question, but where does one go to get a speaker repaired, or is it even worth doing? My dog knocked over one of my B&W 803S speakers, which caused the tweeter assembly on top to pop off and fall apart. I can reassemble it but it doesn't actually work.

Is it reasonably easy/efficient to get a speaker like this repaired, and where would I go (dealer, specialty shop?) Would repairing really get it back to the pre-accident SQ?

If the verdict is that the speaker won't be the same, I'm wide open to suggestions on a replacement/upgrade. How do the new CM10/804D2/802D2's stack up? Any other brands I should be looking into?

Sorry to hear about your speaker - but glad to hear that the pooch is fine.

Others here might know of good places to go, or even ways to fix what you have. If not, I'd say contact the dealer and B&W directly. My B&W dealer was pretty dishonest when I had a problem with a B&W sub that I bought from them, but after I finally contacted B&W directly, they got me set up right away and were great to work with.

This site (don't know if that's an official B&W site, though) has that tweeter listed on their parts site for $162, but they also list a number of components in the tweeter assembly if you only need part of it.

You might want start by trying to see if B&W can sell you a replacement tweeter by contacting them directly.

Yeah, B&W dealer to repair would be the safest bet. See how much that would cost and if you are able to install the replacement tweeter yourself.

Sound-wise, I think diminishing return comes to mind. IMO, if you are happy with the sound of your current speakers, don't waste any money on newer models.

Also you could give this place a try. I haven't used them but they do repair B+W speakers. B&W Repairs - Speaker Exchange Like Mark said going new would be the best but it will be more expensive.

Speaker Exchange was insturmental in getting a replacement for the passive radiator for my 1998 Velodyne VA-1210 a year and a half ago. It's definitely worth a phone call

Not going to win any decorating awards, but it works, and is transparently acoustic too!
