On a somewhat different note...any info from those close to the "industry" if VCRs(of some sort) will have any place after the HDTV deadline? Or will it all be only DVDs in any and all of it's permutations?

Pretty sure it will be some digital technology. Maybe DVR / Blueray writer combination as storage gets less and less expensive?

But there are still some of us stuck with a bunch of media on tape, and cannot add a DVD burner to the HT stack for a while. Of course I'm one of those weirdos looking for an old Hi8 unit to add one for old camcorder tapes, too...

They do seem to be about done, there's nothing much more than absolute junk available unless you really dig.
