Hey folks, after evaluating a large number of speakers and cost etc and me not purchasing a house as intended before (we rented a place hopefully for a few years) I pulled the trigger on this set http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?g=316050&i=580HTS800B&search=Onkyo+HT-SR800+7.1&tp=6452&tab=review

read some reviews and for my use it looks good. Figured why spend a lot of money on something I can only crank up to 2 when it does 11.

Now need some advice on speaker mounting kits as I cannot mount the speakers to the wall directly and need some rotational capabilities. Please let me knwo what you suggest.

PS my most expensive purchase was my 61" Samsung DLP

How large and how heavy are the speakers you want to hang on the walls? that has a large bearing on what size/type you need.

I doo see that Crutchfield offers wall brackets in the "accessories" tab on the web page.

I'm a big fan of the Omnimounts. The link you included doesn't say how much the speakers weigh, but Omnimount has 5, 10, and 20 pound verisons of their various mounts and in black, grey, and white. They use a ball joint system that works really well for positioning your speakers at odd angles. Those allow you to both point and rotate the speakers in a wide range. They have standard wall mount ones that use a straight threaded rod on the ball and ceiling mount ones that have an L-shaped rod (which is what I use). There are also a few other angled variants if you just search for "Omnimount" on Amazon.

They aren't too expensive and they work great. I gave a positive review for the white 20# ceiling mount if you want to read more.

This is a black 10 pound wall mount, which is more than what you'd likely need.

Here is one of their ceiling mounts in grey, for a 5# or less speaker.

Cheers,

Kevin

In that case you can get Omnimount's 5.0 (5-pound capacity) wall mount in white or black. Some other sellers have these for even less.

My dad used these same ones to mount his small Aperion surrounds in the corners of his room and they tucked in quite nicely. One of them was even right at the edge of the doorway and it's not in the way at all. Once in place, your speakers won't move. Good stuff!

Cheers,

Kevin

You're going to buy 5 of them? or CC only sold them in a 5-pack? if you're not just going to mount the surrounds, you'll need to bump up the the heftier 10# mounts for your front speakers, since those are almost 8# according to your posted specs.

Incidentally, I think my dad got his at Circuit City and just bought a pair. Not sure what he paid, but it wasn't anything like $129!

Cheers,

Kevin
