Smooth and broad EQ...???

I read the following review in a magazine:

"The speaker (Dali Ikon 6) does very well outside its more or less obvious and perhaps even intentional midrange forwardness and if one eliminates that with a rather smooth and broad EQ (no micro ups and down in narrow bands required) then the Ikon 6 achieves an admirable neutrality..."

Can someone explain that to me please? Does he suggests a decrease of -2db in treble volume? My receiver (cambridge audio 540R) only has a simple bass/treble volume control...

He(the reviewer) is talking out his butt. He is saying that you need a good dsp type eq to take out the harsh frequencys . Meaning you should go out and buy one because your Dali's need it. You don't NEED one but a DSP (Digital signal processer) but they do work very nicely. Do you like the sound of your speakers? If so , great if not, well buy a different set ,but listen for yourself
and not some tool in a stereo mag......:D
