I have been looking for a small (<15" box size) sub to complement my Paradigm HT setup consisting of a set of Studio60 v3s with the cc470 center and adp470 surrounds. The room is medium sized (~2000 cu.ft.) but half open to the rest of the floor making it at least 3000 cu.ft. The sub needs to be small for space and wife considerations. I currently have a JBL PB12 which is adequate but a bit out of its league after the upgrade to the Paradigms. I have been looking at the Velodyne SPL series and the Paradigm Seismic series. These are small subs with large excursion drivers and large amps. When I walked into a local dealer that sells Velodyne the sales person recommended a brand I never heard of before called Triad. He showed me a Triad bronze sub. This is also a small sub, powered by a conventional A/B 250 watt amp. I didn't have the time for an extensive listening session (I will do later) but I am wondering if anyone has any experience with the Triad that they can share. I can't find much info on them on the web other than the Triad web site. Any other recommendations for small footprint subs in the US$1500-$2000 range are welcome as well.
