Small living room 5.1 suggestions

Just got a brand new Sony 65 inch XBR 990F tv and would love some advice for a reasonably priced 5.1 system. I keep going back-and-forth between a sound bar or receiver. I realize that most people here would go with receiver over sound bar any day, but I just really love the ease of use and small footprint that sound bars have to offer. This will be mainly used for watching movies but I would like it to sound decent for music as well. There are a couple of prerequisites that help define what I need. First off I’d like for it to be around $1,500. Second, the rear surrounds need to be wireless. Finally, I would like it to have a small footprint .... bookshelf speakers with stands for the front as opposed to larger towers. Some of the things I’ve been leaning towards are a Yamaha Musiccast receiver with elac speakers (or the equivalent), A Bose 700 sound bar with matching sub and rear speakers, and even Sonos. Any recommendations here would be greatly appreciated.

What are the dimensions of your room and is it open to other rooms? And how do you sit from the display?

It’s roughly 20x20 and we sit about 14 feet from the tv. The room is an A frame so It might be hard to bounce sound off of the ceiling. It sort of opens up into the kitchen and there’s hardwood floors so it’s fairly live sounding.
